Regardless of the weather, spring break week and the up-tick in movie attendance should be no surprise to the EPIC management staff. The point here is typical theater making sure that you have adequate staffing for the high profit concessions and let customers stand outside (in the bad weather) and wait to purchase the admission ticket. Inside they had four people working the concession stand and the lines were long there too, but move fairly quickly. Took us 20 minutes just to purchase our tickets. They only had one individual selling tickets as a result those waiting to buy and get in were in a line that never ended. Our problems began at the outside area to obtain tickets. On this day, which was a bad weather day, cold/rainy/misty there were many attending the movies. Spring break week is a 'known' week on many calendars and should be for EPIC. It was spring break week so lots of families and kids. We are from out of the area, but will go to the movies on bad weather days. If they don’t, the website should communicate that as well. I don’t even know if Epic does onsite sales for their drive-in. I would suggest to reserve parking spaces for onsite purchases or clearly communicate on the website when shows are sold out to ensure people who can’t be served are not arriving. The execution however, needs improvement. I think the drive-in movie concept is a great idea for Epic to take on during these times of social distancing. That said, there was more than enough time to clearly communicate the status of this show times and I wasted time and gas coming. The other frustrating thing about this is the fact that the show was sold out at midnight the night before according to the parking attendant. When I arrived, the parking attendant said they tried to remove the listing from the website, which obviously did not happen. The website gave an error message about no tickets being available online but, it did not say the show was completely sold out another missed opportunity to clearly communicate to the public. I called twice only to get a general voicemail stating to leave a message. That said, there were plenty of missed opportunities to communicate their movie was sold out. Epic’s communication with the public needs serious improvement when try to function during this pandemic. My family and I drove 45min to their drive-in in theater only to be turned away because we had not bought tickets online. I hope this review helps with Epic’s processes.
